WooHoo!!! I never knew that cobblers were able to take in boots until today. I'm so excited. I am no stranger to the tailor. I have almost everything I own tailored at some point to make sure everything fits perfectly but I never thought about tailoring my shoes.
I have an awful time finding boots that are narrow enough and high enough in the shaft. I am only 5'5" but I like boots to come right up to my knee. I think boots that hit lower on the calf make my legs look shorter than they are. I also don't like them to gape open at the top. Add to this that I like my boots plainer than plain, and I can't find any I like.
I got a pair of Nine West boots today that remind me of boots that Carolyn Bessette Kennedy owned. I was so excited until I put them on. They have a high shaft and they are plain and the heel is 3" which isn't too high (I wish they were kitten heels but...) but they gape open at the top. In frustration I just did a Google search and am so excited to see that narrowing a boot is totally possible.
